News N.L.F.D Receives Grant for New Gear Thanks to a grant application completed by Capt. Lyon, the New London Fire Department has received a grant for $29,298.00, through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (A.F.G.) in round 1. The N.L.F.D. will be purchasing 17 new sets of structural firefighting gear with the grant. ---------------------------------------------------- Thanks to Lt. Bjorklund, our new FEMA grant-funded air trailer is up and operational!
This cascade trailer is used, not only by our department, but also is used for mutual aid calls. Due to the fact that Newport FD uses the same pressure air bottles as New London, we are now on their run card for every working fire in Newport. 3-01-05 ---------------------------------------------------- Fire Department addition is done a month and a half ahead of projected completion date and $60,000.- under budget.
The Kitchen is almost done. The wall oven will be delivered today 9/1/04. Bruce and his crew at Burpee Hill Cabinets built the custom cabinets, Shaker Hill Granite provided the counter tops, and a local resident provided the Kitchen Appliances. Thanks to all for such a great job.
The small conference room was out fitted by Jen Ellis, the company Safety Officer.
Brian Carey and his crew of Ed Johnson and Jay Bassi install the new siding on the old storage shed. This new siding has a 15 year warranty on the paint.
